Can I use a USB wired apple keyboard with my Mac Studio?

I have an aluminum extended keyboard that connects via USB.

my new Mac Studio will not recognize it during setup.

It should work...

Windows Win key = Mac CMD key or ⌘

Windows alt key = Mac Option key or ⌥, also called alt key on Mac sometimes.

Start with this of M1 or M2 Mac...

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.

Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.

Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.

Select a volume.

Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.

The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.

Restart normally.

Un-encumbered by deep direct knowledge on this subject, my prediction would be:

Although recovery system (the software you interact with during Install, Recovery, and diagnostics and the like) does not appear to have drivers for the aluminum keyboard...

You MAY find that [full-blown, up-and-running] MacOS itself does have Drivers for that keyboard, and once MacOS is up and running, that keyboard will work.

[in my opinion] the BIG decider (about whether that keyboard could be useful at all) will be whether the startup software where you enter your password in 'regular' macOS can see that keyboard.
