Canceling a subscription that says it is expired

I subscribed to discord nitro a while back. Specifically the $2.99 basic Nitro version. However, I wanted to upgrade to the normal $9.99 nitro subscription. When I did, I noticed that I was getting billed once for the Nitro and then again for the Basic. I cancelled the $9.99 subscription and am still getting billed for the basic. Because I purchased the subscription through apple I have to cancel it through apple however, in the app store it says my subscription expired in August and I cannot cancel the Basic. It still registers me as having an active subscription (because of the nitro Basic) and therefore cannot remove any payment method on my account. Because this is an apple problem I figured someone here might have an answer on how to fix this in a way that doesn't require me buying nitro again just to cancel it or if im just going to have to bite the bullet and hope it works.
