repeating events in iCal

It's now 11 years and counting since the issue with the iCal app was flagged - but oddly in between monthly repeats used to work every 4 weeks - when did that stop again? Recent update? Now only for fixed day of teh month.

It created the event on the 1st day, and on the 2nd day the event appears twice. On the 3rd day the event appears 3 times. How to set up and manage repeating events in Apple Calendar? Dear Apple Support, I’ve noticed an issue with the repeating event settings in the Calendar app. When setting an event to repeat “daily” and “every ten days” simultaneously, the event repeats every day, making the “every ten days” option redundant, as it could cause the event to repeat twice after ten days. These options should be mutually exclusive: either “daily” (or weekly, etc.) or “every ten days” (or other intervals), but not both together. Please clarify or address this in a future update. Well, if you want it every 4 weeks, set it for every 4 weeks with a custom recurrence. That's simple.

This event can happen twice in the same month, how do you want a monthly recurrence to handle that?
