Photos to Google Drive failure

While uploading photos and videos from Photos app, if the screen gets locked due to inactivity , the uploads will fail. I searched in Apple community for this and saw everyone suggesting to turn off the Auto Screen lock(Uploading files to Google Drive stops whe… - Apple Community. Well , that might work. But I just tried the other way around.

Go to Google Drive, select the folder where you want to upload and click on the + sign -> Upload -> Select Photos and Videos. And now select the items you want to upload and click upload. This method will not fail even if screen gets locked.
