Calendar 'Events Affect Availability' not staying checked

When I check 'Events Affect Availability', it goes green and I press 'done'. Then go back in, it immediately goes back to unchecked. Please help. I need it to show me as busy so that my third-party booking system will work. Been fine for years, suddenly stopped working.

Calendar When I search on my calendar - I get no results. This is new - no idea what changed. When I scroll back, events in my calendar ( other than repeating events/ holidays) are not lingers there for prior months. I looked thru settings- but I couldn’t find anything that controls this. Help!
