Fitness+ My Plan not showing workouts as completed.

I ran into a bug where I started a fitness plan using my Apple Fitness+ subscription and then after did all three workouts in order via my up to date Apple watch and Apple TV on the fitness app. It went and marked the last two as completed for the plan’s day but not the first workout although it does recognize I did it and recorded it that day. Is there anyway to mark them as completed?

I do something similar now and I get 100% success rate with exercises on plan being marked complete.

  • I go to fitness+ app on my iphone.
  • the app has the workout for the day it wants me to complete, I tap “launch” from my iPhone in that workout
  • I tap the screen share or airplay icon at the bottom right corner of the workout video before starting the workout
  • i choose the Apple device I want to cast to which is my Apple tv
  • i press the play button on my watch after it shares to Apple TV, and complete the workout
  • i go back to my phone and click the green “done” button when the workout is finished

I've done it this way for 2 weeks now, this being the start of my third week and it hasn’t missed a workout in my plan once yet. Kinda stinks to have to do it this way, but until they fix this bug, it’s the best solution I’ve found. Initiating the workout from iPhone app and air playing it on a different device then completing it on the iPhone when finished. I also always do the suggested workout instead of choosing my own.

I think I discovered why this is happening. At the end of each Fitness+ workout, you are presented with a summary screen. I found that if I don’t click “Done” at the bottom of this summary screen, then it won’t record the workout on my plan. Naturally, most days I was just walking away after the workout and not paying attention. But for all of you having this problem, be sure to click “Done” on the post-workout summary screen and see if the issue persists.

I had this same thing happen to me. I tried restarting my phone thinking that might get the app to sync. Didn’t work. Then I thought I’d just replay the videos while I sit on the couch. I ran the first video for 30 seconds before calling it quits and deciding it’s not a big deal because I know I completed them. However, miraculously, after I exited out of the video, it then synced up and marked all my exercises I had completed in the plan for the day as done. Maybe this is a one off, but it solved the problem for today.

This is happening to me as well. Started a plan this week, Monday, Thursday and Friday tracked as completed for me, but Tuesday and Wed did not. I start the workout from my phone, track on my watch, and AirPlay from my phone to my tv in front of my treadmill (I do not have an Apple TV in my workout room). On Tuesday and Wed once I airplayed onto my TV I locked my phone to save battery, but on Thur and Friday, I did not - so maybe that is where the bug is, at least on my end.

I'm having this same issue. It's quite demotivating that an app which is supposed to help keep you motivated, is telling you that you didn't work out when you did indeed work out. The other day I just played my workout video again and didn't work out simply so it would record.

For what it's worth, I initiate workouts through the fitness+ app on my apple tv, then I activate it through my watch. Most days, the fitness+ app on my phone records the workout on my custom plan. But at least once a week there is a breakdown and the custom plan shows I missed a workout when I didn't.

As of today, all my devices are up to date. I don't want to reach out to Apple support because all they do is tell you to hard reset everything which is a huge pain, they never try to solve the problem. I embrace the Apple ecosystem because their software is stable and everything is supposed to work. But more and more cracks are starting to appear. I will likely start migrating off of the Apple ecosystem slowly but surely. At least with a system like google or others, I don't have the expectation that things will work properly.

This is happening to me on my phone. I'm completing the workouts on my iPad and they all show completed there with the green checks. On my iPhone there is often a workout that doesn't show as completed. And then I get the notifications saying there's still time to do it, even though I did it hours earlier. I can't figure out why it wouldn't be the same on both devices. Frustrating issue.

I’m also having this issue. Here’s my typical workflow. I’ll open up the fitness app and pull up my first workout. Next, I’ll start a SharePlay session with my wife because we do the same workout at the same time. I’ll then hit the “Let’s go” button. Once it loads for both of us, I’ll airplay to the living room Apple TV and press the play button from the phone app. Then I’ll lock my screen to save battery. Once the workout is complete, I’ll tap the done button if it’s still there. Then as OP stated, the workout says completed on the workout but it doesn’t mark it as completed in the plan.
