mac book pro plays music through the computer instead of external speakers when hooked up to bluetooth

every time i connect bluetooth to an outside speaker, the music still continues to play only through the computer even with successful pairing

MacBook Pro. Bluetooth connectivity. My MacBook Air bluetooth won't connect to my Logitech Bluetooth Audio Receiver that is connected to my home stereo amplifier. I used to work, and I still get a chime that the bluetooth is connected but the audio is still playing through MacBooks speakers.
