Unable to receive login confirmation code

My friends phone number has changed and is unable to receive a confirmation code to login. What should he do? His email is at***5@gmail.com I am assisting him because he is not that computer savvy, he is sitting next to me.Thank you in advance.

Ask him to:

Sign in to your Apple ID account page and edit / update your Apple ID details -> https://appleid.apple.com

(Sidebar) Click Personal Information -> Reachable at -> then edit / update your trusted phone number.
