predictive text forcing me to type

In the latest round of dumb changes amongst some new features is that now predictive text will force you to type the rest of the word or put in a letter before you can hit the back button and actually delete letters. To the devs: was this intentional or just yall messing up? If it was intentional and for any reason other than to mess with us, what was the reason?

Predictive text I’ve got a very strange problem. Whenever I type the word fishing or simply the start fi the predictive text comes up with “weird shit” and puts it in the text. It even did it while I was typing this. This is not a joke. It’s infuriating as I’m a fly fisherman so I use the word a lot. How do I get rid of the predictive text problem?!

predictive text popping up even though i have it off i have predictive text disabled in keyboard settings, but sometimes when i’m typing it pops up anyways and doesn’t go away unless i close out the keyboard. it used to be something that happened every so often but now it happens frequently. i turn predictive text off because it’s distracting to my eyes and i don’t like it. how do i stop this from happening?
