Authorization Error Error 400: invalid_request when attempting to log into my calendar and/or mail app on my macbook pro

I cannot log into these apps based off the error code 400

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to add an account on your MacBook Pro, as you get an error code. So we can look at possible next steps, please add some additional details by answering these questions:

Can you confirm what macOS version is installed: Find out which macOS your Mac is using - Apple Support
What service is this account with?
Are you doing this in the native Mail and Calendar apps, or a different app?
Can you log into this account in a web portal or different device?
Have you tested this on a different network?
