Changed Filenames and Information!

I have several screenshots on my Desktop that were taken in 2019 and 2020. Somehow the names and information about the files, date added and et cetera, have been changed to say 2000. For example, “Screenshot 2000-12-31” with December 31, 2000 as the Date Created, Date Added, et cetera.

2011 MacBook Pro running OS X Mavericks 10.9.5.

Please advise.

this will happen when your computer's CMOS/PRAM battery or capacitor has gone on the blink. The clock will reset to an older time, and will not get the correct time until you link the computer to the internet. Opening files when the clock is set to the wrong date will update the Finder info on the files.

You can use the Unix Touch command to reset the date/time to a desirable time. Do not do this to anything but personal created documents, as that can affect licensing, and security of websites.
