My wife (owns a iPhone 15 Pro and me too) had the problem after an iOS 17 update that her touchscreen no longer showed any function and the iPhone could no longer be charged via cable, only wireless. After several failed attempts to solve the problem, the only solution was a restore. From then on, it got complicated, because every attempt to restore with our macs (booth m1) was returned with error 1669.

This article provides the crucial clue. There is a missing update with, to me and the author, unknown content. I proceeded exactly as mentioned in the post, but did not receive an update (Macbook M1, Sonoma 14.0) and initially felt fooled. I continued to get the "1669" error, even with various ipsw files ands cables (even the thunderbolt 4 one), etc.
When I was fed up with the Mac and wanted to switch to Windows to try iTunes, out of nowhere (no iPhone connected, no reboot) about half an hour later, after the last update attempt, when copying the ipsw files to a USB-C stick, a popup came up that I was missing an update to restore my iPhone. I did the update and right in the next attempt I restored my iphone with a 17.0.3 ipsw file. Tochscreen and usb charging is working again.
