mid 2011 iMac dead after power outage

I have a mid 2011 iMac that would not boot up after a brief power outage in my home. Took the steps suggested by apple support (very helpful as always!), but no go. Unplugged the power cable and left it sit ... the next morning it booted up fine and all is good! Just thought I'd share
