I use Shazam wholeheartedly. I had gotten the name of about (25) songs over a couple of hours of running these songs through Shazam. When I went to log in the next day, Shazam would not open. I followed all the mentioned steps to correct (reboot, check for updates, deleted and reinstalled a new Shazam ) now... Shazam won't even open. It appears for a second then disappears. Have I been banned or something?

Based on various reports around here, there seems to be a bug in the Shazam app in at least some configurations.
The Shazam Terms & Conditions has a suggested path for reporting issues, when the in-app path is unavailable:
