MacOs Sonoma safari web apps won't open in designated desktop. Makes no difference how you launch it (dock, spotlight, launchpad)

Hi there rborgman,

If the issue persists in safe mode, we next suggest setting up a temporary administrator account and then test to see if you can replicate the issue there. This will tell you if you have a system-wide issue, or if there might be a user-specific cause. Here's how to set up a new user: New user or group setup on Mac - Apple Support

Then sign in to the new account, test it out, and let us know the results. Best wishes.

Hi rborgman,

We want to help with using web apps.

What's happening when you open the designated web app?

Is the window opening but doesn't load?

If you have any VPN or security software, try disabling or removing it and testing again.

Try starting in safe mode to see if it works there:

Start up your Mac in safe mode

If this works in safe mode, it means you're experiencing an issue with an app.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

Hello, When I open the web app, macos jumps to the assigned desktop, the icon shows up in the dock but the window doesn't open. When you click on the icon to open the web app window, macos jumps back to the first desktop and opens the window there. Also tried it in safe mode, same behaviour. I have no VPN or security software. When I open the web app and I am already on the assigned desktop everything works ok.
