Apple Watch Ultra - Satellite SOS

When will apple give the Apple Watch ultra the satellite SOS feature that the new iPhone models have - I am a surfer and kite surfer so going out on the water without my phone if I want an emergency waterproof and easily portable devise I have to buy and use something like the Garmin in-reach Mini… if Apple included this feature in the next upgrade of the Ultra I think they would have a huge market of people come across from Garmin!

Apple Watch Ultra for Cross Country Skiing How can you call it an apple watch ULTRA and not measure distance and my track in skiing? I get that there are some work arounds, but it seems like this is what the GPS should be used for.

Do i have to keep my iphone close by to track swimming correctly? I'm thinking of buying an apple watch for fitness tracking (mostly pool swimming and later cycling)... Do i need to keep my iphone close by for it to accurately tracking my swimming? I usually leave my phone in the locker, away from swimming pool. And what about ocean swimming? would it track my distance and other metrics correctly without having iphone nearby?
