Ghost/Phantom Alarm that Apple refuses to fix!

Hello,

I'm having a ghost alarm issue with my iPhones for nearly 10 years. Now I have updated my iPhone to iOS 16 and it still exists.

And the most annoying thing is that I just bought a new Apple Watch, and it synced the ghost alarm on it own and rings everyday on my wrist (there's no way to prevent it from syncing that alarm, and there's no way to disable the alarm either, because iOS "thinks" it does not exist. Please keep reading)

The issue was that once I set a sleep alarm in my old iPhone (around 10 years ago), and restored it into my new iPhone with the new iOS (iOS 10, 11 or 12), but the builtin sleep app (or clock app, I don't remember) in that new iOS had been removed and replaced with another builtin app. In the new app the sleep alarms were empty by default (and also I confirmed and ensured everything was deleted later), but that ghost alarm still worked everyday. I also tried to delete everything alarm-like or timer-like or schedule-like on my iPhone but got no luck.

Currently the new iOS supports deleting the builtin clock app which I found actually firing the alarm, and I have deleted this app (not just removing it from the desktop). However even though the ghost alarm still works everyday, showing an icon of the deleted clock app, with the messages from the clock app like before. If I click on the messages, iOS would try to open that clock app but could not find it, then it shows "Download clock from app store". Sometimes, the clock app would send me notifications not related to a specific time, and if I click on that message, it would get stuck at the messages screen because the app does not exist.

Apart of that, even though I have removed this app from my iPhone and I have turned on syncing apps for my Apple Watch, the ghost alarm still got synced to my Apple Watch. And just like what you can imagine if I open the alarm notification on my apple watch, it would open the clock app (on my watch) but there's no such an alarm existing on my watch's clock app.

Wouldn't it sound a bit ridiculous that the clock app is firing alarms while it doesn't exist on my devices? For example it looks like it was deleted on my iPhone (iOS even asking me to download it), but was not deleted fully, just like a ghost, and that's why people call it a ghost alarm.

I posted about this issue a couple of years ago in this community, with thousands of thumbs-up but nobody from Apple thought it's a real issue. And I can see a lot of iOS users have the same issue. With the past iOS versions I could not delete the clock app, and could not show any proof, but now I can show that your clock app does have a ghost alarm bug, and the bug was from a very old version of the clock app (and perhaps the old sleep app).

It is a bug, and I'm just reporting the bug to you, so thank you but please do not just teach me using apple's products.

To conclude, the goal for me (and for other customers with the ghost alarm issue as well) is just to remove such an alarm. And what we need is somewhere in the iPhone / Apple Watch to let us do so.

Could you please report this issue to apple's developers and let them check through the code and make sure there is no old hard-coded alarm functions existing in the new iOS? Thanks!

I'm with the same. Twice a day, Clock alarms fire on 10:00 and 21:30. For few years Apple don't want to help us. I reported it dozens of times. Always heard kind of empathy and that the next update should fix that.

The problem started on iOS 14.2, now it's 17 and still not fix. At this moment that's most irritating and ignored problem I ever had with iPhone and Apple. It's confirmed nobody from Apple is thinking it's a real issue.

Felling like, ghost alarms everyday is normal thing..
