My iPhone will not vibrate on silent after doing the new iOS 17 update

For me and many others, this still doesn't work. I have a degree in Computer Science. If I can't get this to work, Apple should fix this bug and stop adding silly icon updates and flashing widgets. get the basic working Apple!

I echo your concerns… missing calls and notifications due to the lack of vibrate and unable to have phone on sound due to work. Can honestly say this is the first time in over 15 years of apple that I am considering leaving due to this issue that Apple appear to be ignoring.

I am looking to get the old Vibrate back before IOS17. The new Vibrate tone (or whatever you want to call it) is too soft and you can hear the vibration so I am missing calls. Why did Apply change this old Vibrate feel for something new that is not working for myself and many others based on the number of complaints.

My iPhone SE will not vibrate since updating to iOS 17.2.1. Haptics is set to Always Play, System Haptics is on, and vibration is set to on in Accessibility. This is a real problem when working in quiet environments where I need to know if an email, text or call has come in. How is this being addresses and who is monitoring this ticket?

Another update today. Thanks for the journal Apple but I’d really like my phone to vibrate again. No clue how a company this big could think that removing said option would be beneficial in anyway and the lack of urgency in correcting is insane.

All of my settings are "right" (I checked Accessibility, Sounds and Haptics, all the options listed- they're all as they should be) and normally things work, but sometimes my phone seems to decide it simply doesn't want to vibrate. I am missing some important calls over this. I look forward to switching to Android ASAP.

I tried this and it didn't do anything. My watch is set to silent and sometimes my phone vibrates on silent, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes both my watch and phone vibrate, others not. This has been an issue for me on my last three iPhones. I even have my wife set up as an emergency bypass contact set to vibrate and there are times she texts me and my phone doesn't vibrate. This whole thing is so frustrating and I'm not sure if I should contact Apple Support or even both with a Genius appointment.

I’m having the same issue. Just updated to iOS17 and anytime my phone is on silent, it does not vibrate. Before iOS17, I had an option to have the phone vibrate under “Ringtone and Alert Volume” in setting, but now that option has disappeared. Please help us with this. I keep missing calls when my phone is on silent because it doesn’t vibrate

Is this still the iphone I bought or is Apple covering up the theft that Apple is able to track on the actual iphone you purchased. I think Apple is avoiding the issue that I have found to be impossible to prove on the customer's end:

Our iPhones can be easily stolen and replaced with fakes and Apple knows it. How can a cell phone not vibrate?!?!

i've tried literally everything nothing works. my phone wont vibrate even when i press the different vibrate options in sounds&haptics. it vibrates for nothing. i somehow got it to work and it worked for like a week then 17.4 came and again nothing. it doesnt work on silent or with ringer on. theres absolutely zero vibration/haptic coming from my phone. not even a faint one theres just nothing.

I’m just noticing now that vibrate isn’t working after my update. I don’t usually like vibration so it’s not off, I just turned it off for notifications. But I like haptics so I kept it on. Now with the update it shows vibration on in accessibility but haptics will not work . Neither will it vibrate when I get a call or text

My phone was set on "Always" and its still not vibrating since the last update. This appears to be a bug as it vibrated exactly as expected before the software update. Please fix this soon

choosing a ring tone does not allow you to change the vibration intensity. How do you change the vibration intensity?

I have lost any ability to change to. Vibrate on silence or ring since downloading 17 last night. The 2 sentences are gone!

Apple seriously needs to fix this. I need my phone to vibrate when it’s on silent. This is ridiculous. Haptics in place of vibrations don’t do ANYTHING at notifying.
