Bluetooth issues on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.0.3

I am having issues with bluetooth dropping the connection in my car and air pods pro since I upgraded my phone to iphone 15 PM and IOS 17.0.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. this is my main phone and I can't take the chance of having unstable IOS build on it. Any suggestions or better yet can apple just make something that works as it should for $1200 thanks!

1. Apple released the iOS 17.1.2 update, which fixed the Bluetooth issues on iPhone 15 Pro.
Update iPhone to new iOS 17.1.2
2. Unpair the iPhone from the car.
3. Remove the Bluetooth HandsFree link from your iPhone.
4. Reboot iPhone.
5. Now pair the iPhone in the car.

Yes, mmi with nav and a B&O audio system. Not sure if that would make a difference. O cannot stream music via Bluetooth. 2012 is when that was available for Audi. I was using the Bluetooth adapter mentioned in a previous post in the past. Currently, I have an aftermarket Carplay module that is installed in the back of the MMI unit. Quite a nice unit as it makes it almost like it's factory-installed. That has hardwire and Bluetooth. And no, the same issues with that Bluetooth which I believe is Bluetooth 5. Even when I have the hardwire in and try to make a call it disconnects and then locks up the MMI until I disconnect the wire and have to wait a minute or so for everything to work again.

Of course, they said they could not replicate the problem, and to take my hearing aids to the doctor's office. I had already done so. There was nothing wrong with my hearing aids, but he did say to me that he had seen many people who were having problems with their new Apple phones. Tech responded that he was wrong and that I had done something wrong. I went to see a "genius," who was anything but, and he said he thought it was a software problem and he was "sure" Apple was working on it. That was six weeks ago. Apple sold me a 1200 dollar paperweight

Ran across quite a few threads about hearing aids not working with the 15 Pro, especially when it first came out. allegedly these issues were fixed with 17.2 (but it sounds like they weren’t after all?). Sounds like an escalation to senior support is in order.

I was under the impression the issues had been fixed, which I why I thought forcing the car Bluetooth to be a hearing aid might change things. I’ll bring the hearing aid stuff up tomorrow too with support.

Well suddenly my Bluetooth to my 10 year old BMW F30 is working - connecting as it should - but my AirPods still require the procedure of placing on ears - hearing the connect gong - have to go to Bluetooth under setting and turn of Bluetooth with the green slider than back on I can live with that - however since my net Model 15 pro cost heaps I’m expecting it to work as promised and be fit for purpose

My Magsafe charges with iPhone 15 iOs17.3 work fine. While I'm here the Bluetooth to my BMWF30 has started working - it was a pain for a while but mysteriously it works now. Airpods still need the workaround of placing them in my ears - hearing the gong - open Bluetooth on my iPhone go to the slider at the top turn off Bluetooth and turn it on again to make it connect.

My 12 pro max was having this issue and I couldn’t fix it. It would intermittently cut out and back in when playing music through Bluetooth. The phone ended up shattering itself and I had it replaced through AppleCare. The drive home from Apple is about two hours and my Bluetooth didn’t cut out once. Replacing the phone fixed the issue for me.

And this is Apple's grand plan. Mine is an iPhone 11, and since I updated to iOS 17.2.1 the connection ceased with my car's UConnect system. I don't have Apple CarPlay. My other family member's older iphones (with pre-iOS 17) updates still work fine on my vehicle's bluetooth/UConnect system. The Apple Senior rep told me I'd have to replace my CAR if I expected to keep updating my iPhones over time.

Now, my brand new hearing aids will not work at all with the blue tooth. I went to the hearing aid doctor, told him the problem, and he said, "Let me guess, you own an iPhone Pro or Pro-Max." I told him yes, and he said that I was not alone and that Apple was ignoring the problem. On a side note, I noticed Apple sent me an ad for a German Hearing aid that I know about, which is a piece of garbage. I would hate to think the two are linked.

!5 pro, peugeot 508, 2014

last couple of days I was on the road and I had chance to test connection in the car. When I have regular calls in most cases connection doesn't loose. I also used sygic navigation app on the phone and every time the app make notification the connection broke and I have to connect manually. the same is with google maps navigation app or with calls via WhatsApp.

Regarding your other message about the phone book, I am also noticing “phone book downloading” or a similar message I’ve never noticed on my 2017 Jeep UConnect screen. I don’t have Apple CarPlay but have a iPhone 11 Pro and the UConnect. After allowing the iOS 17.2.1 update two weeks ago, my car Bluetooth stopped working with my phone. It worked fine with my son’s older phone and older iOS. Same as many on here - it will connect and UConnect recognizes my phone stored, but the Bluetooth drops after a few seconds. Oddly, I can restore if I manually re-pair my phone to UConnect. But the catch is I can only do this via the voice prompts in my car, and pressing the phone button to start the voice prompts also doesn’t always work (after this iOS upgrade), so I have to keep trying until it does.

I don’t know what to make of the phone book downloading message that seems to be hung and doesn’t go away until the Bluetooth session automatically disconnects.

i am investigating ways to reset my phone to the v16 iOS and even though apple says this isn’t possible there may be a way to do this.

At this point i’m 100% sure they just don’t care…. I’m on 17.3 and i wanna break my phone every time i try to listen to music on speakers or when i talk on the phone with my headphones connected.

I don’t wanna believe none of the developers at Apple don’t have iPhones and saw the freakin bluetooth problem. Most likely don’t even know how to fix the problem so instead they cover it up with “oh we didn’t know of the issue as nobody complained”. Or maybe the developers really don’t have iphones so that would be a big sign for us.

Unfortunately for car only by cable will work without any cuts. No bluetooth.

I have already been extremely annoyed off at Apple when my airpods pro came with a fabrication defect and they refused to change them with the excuse that the issue was fixed before my airpods left the fabrication facility and i just stared at them and said “well it seems you didn’t do a good job at fixing it seeing that i’m in front of you with the exact issue you said you fixed”. And yeah i’m still left with a broken left airpod cus i didn’t want to give them any more $$.

Having similar issues with my older UConnect in my Jeep. I just "upgraded" to an iPhone 15, but half the time I try make a call in my car, it doesn't work, and the half of the time it DOES work, it lasts for just that call, then Bluetooth completely disconnects and will not reconnect unless I "reset" my UConnect console by turning the car off, opening the door to remove all power, and restarting... all that for just a 50/50 shot of being able to make ONE MORE CALL.

The kicker on this is that it has happened in the past when I LAST UPGRADED MY IPHONE! So, this is a known issue that has seemingly crept back in. I have to say I just love having spent a net $800 for a device I can't use when I make most of my calls (in the car).

Not the same Apple as when Steve Jobs was with us...
