TouchId not working in Macbook pro

I recently changed my AD password and now my system unlocks with the new password but my touch Id stopped working so I went to System Settings >> Touch Id and Password and disabled it. Now when I try to re-enable, it is asks for password and when I provide the password the password window closes and the enable/disable toggle goes back to disable mode and touch id remains disabled. Has anyone else seen this issue?
