Deleting blocked numbers and fake names

I am trying to clear and delete all the blocked numbers on my iPhone SE 2nd Generation. I have followed the advice given on other posts to add the number to my contacts, give it a fake name, then delete the contact. All that worked fine. However, instead of the number appearing on the blocked list, the fake name appears, even though there is no number in my contacts. How do I wipe the page clean of everything and end up with a blank page? I don’t want a huge list of fake names on my phone.

Th only way to remove the list of blocked contacts would be to unblock them.

You can provide feedback to Apple directly regarding this.

They take feedback very seriously and would love to hear from you.

You can do this by going to iPhone

This actually isn’t very helpful. I’m worried that if I unblock them, I will start receiving calls or emails from them again. So I just put up with continually receiving emails that I have blocked?? It does show up as a blocked address, but I still get them even though they are blocked. Then what is the purpose of blocking? Not being a smartass. I would think that if it has been blocked that would mean it is BLOCKED, as in not able to send to my phone any more. I apologize if I am not understanding the vocabulary. If photos can be permanently deleted, why can’t phone numbers or email addresses?Thank you for any help regarding this, I honestly do appreciate it.

If you have a phone number or email address on the blocked list and you're still receiving contacts from them, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support so they can look into this with you. They can be reached here: Get Support
