I lost service on my iPhone 14 Pro

Hi all

I’m hoping that someone will tell me how to fix….

I lost service on my iPhone 14 pro last Tuesday. The only thing that looks weird is that in the settings under General the physical sim the network shows as unavailable and if I open the link it says “phone not allowed”

I have restarted, reset, tried my sim in another phone where it works. I have spoken to my provider O2 who say it’s not the sim or their network.

Please could somebody advise.

Thanks in advance

I have exactly the same problem. It worked fine for two weeks though. Carrier says that everything is ok. I checked with a couple of websites which check whether your phone is blocked and both came up ok. Tearing my hair out right now..

Those websites are worthless.

If you bought a used phone, you got scammed.

This is a very common scam. Someone gets a phone from their carrier, has insurance on it, sells the phone, then reports it lost and gets it replaced by insurance, at which point the original phone becomes useless.

Talk to whoever you got it from. Get your money back if you can. If you can't, turn it over to the police.

Hey rockchicxxx,

You've done some great troubleshooting steps so far. When you see "Not Allowed" in Settings > General > About > Carrier, this typically points to a device block from your carrier. This explains why the SIM works in a different device. We recommend reaching back out to them for assistance.

What iOS are you running to? Did you update it to the latest iOS 17.1.1? I lost cell service on my iphone 11 pro after upgrading the iOS from 17.1 to 17.1.1 and have no ability to add service back to it (whether it was a forced download of the eSIM from my carrier or eSIM QR code scan). I go to Settings > Carrier > No option to "Set Up Carrier" either.

My carrier Visible told me after many attempts of trouble shooting and back-and-forth with tech agents, They reached the conclusion and resolution that my device is no longer eSIM compatible, which was weird because it's always been using an eSIM since the day I got the phone. They had no other explanations why it wont work with eSIM.

I ended up contacting Amazon where I originally bought the phone as a "Premium Renewed" device and I contacted them as well for tech support and after going through more trouble shooting steps, they told me that the device is defective and that I could initiate a refund if I return the iPhone. So I sent the phone back to Amazon and now waiting for the refund process to proceed.

I hope that someone can help you out and fix the issue, and hopefully Apple developers are going through threads and find yours to help. Good luck.
