After update 16.7 I can’t open messages says Apple ID don’t match
I Message stopped working on IPad after updating 16.7.
works on IPhone keeps saying Apple ID not the same.

It looks like you checked out the article on what to do if you can't update or restore your iPad. Just to confirm, are you having issues updating or restoring your device as well?
For your iMessage and Apple ID issue, we recommend that you double check your Apple ID account from your iPad. Go to Settings > Your name on top. Do you see the same Apple ID as your iPhone?
If not, make sure you sign out and then sign in with the correct Apple ID account.
