Alarm does not work in stand-by mode

💡 Solution: In order for morning alarms to ring while your iPhone is in StandBy Mode, make sure to set a “Sleep | Wake Up” alarm in the Clock or Health App for the time you want instead of setting a normal alarm. This worked well for me. The alarm plays loud and clear and the UI in StandBy includes a large snooze button, stop button, and even a nice good morning message. Hope that helps! :)

So we’re sitting here discussing this issue and we think we’ve discovered what the problem is based on other posts we’ve read.

It sounds like your phone isn’t on a stand and you’re just leaning it on its side.

when you’re in standby mode, basically touching the phone in anyway will turn the alarm off.

So what’s likely happening is your phone is vibrating when the alarm goes off, which causes it to move which causes it to turn off the alarm.

I’d report that to Apple as feedback. Seems like an irresponsible way to turn off alarms.

Also had this problem that was solved by turning the “Attention aware features” setting off. To do this, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode, then scroll down to “Attention aware features” and flip to off.

I do like the setting, however, it really needs to be separated from the volume lowering functionality. Do better Apple.

Hi EVERYONE I FIGURED IT OUT! So I’m not sure WHICH one it was because I tried Afew things but 1. I went to settings>sounds and Haptics and turned it ALL the way up. 2. On that SAME PAGE I went to haptics and switched it to play in silent mode (it was on always play but I thought y not try this) 3.SAME PAGE I turned OFF system haptics. U do those 3 THE ALARMS WILL START TO WORK ! Thank me later apples 🍎 🤞🏽☺️

My alarms worked for me today (first test with Standby mode). I suggest reboot your devices and test again.

Turning off Haptics worked.

depth sensor broke and no Face ID I think you have bigger concerns than the alarm clock just get the phone warrantied out

I’m having the same issue and I’m about to do a test, I’ll edit this post with the results when I’m done

Edit: I did a quick test where I set an alarm and left it (without standby mode) and it worked perfectly fine. Then, I put an alarm on and set my phone on standby mode. My screen showed that my alarm is playing but there was no sound at all! How do we get Apple to fix this?

Regardless of all the solutions and/or work arounds, apple needs to fix this. Standby mode or any other new feature apple comes out with should never affect a feature like alarms. A user consciously sets alarm to be alerted anytime, any place. User is not going to assume putting your phone in standby mode, which actually displays your next alarm, will interrupt your standard alarms. If apple assumes we need to use their new “Sleep | Wake up” feature to work around this, it’s careless. Don’t affect a feature like a basic alarm, that is simple

I have an iPhone 15 Pro plus, I put it on the charger sideways before bed. It shows the clock, first alarm goes off in the morning I hit snooze. The second alarm goes off, but immediately shuts off after like a second without touching it. Help Apple!!!!!

I am having the same issue of my alarm not working in Standby. My iPhone 15 Pro is on a MagSafe charger that holds it firmly in landscape mode suspended 3” above the base. Nothing touches the phone outside of the MagSafe ring. Does anyone know how to message Apple about this? Does contacting AppleCare seem to work?
