How to delete Start Page tab group?

I accidentally named the tabs I had open as a tab group, and now I have three tab groups (Private, “Start Page”, and the named group). I just want to go back to what I had, which was the Private group and all my open tabs (I guess they were in a group, but I hadn’t named them). But there’s no way I can find to delete the “Start Page” tab group. Ideas?

Thanks!

Hello!

It’s not really about closing the tabs but rather about getting rid of that “extra” tab group that apparently cannot be deleted, per above. So, now I’d love to move the tabs in my (accidentally) named tab group into that default, undeletable group, and then delete the named tab group.

Hi Frederick Wilson,

What you're describing is the general Tab view that would keep track of any tabs you have open that you haven't put in a group. It's not possible to delete this, but you can always close out any unwanted tabs. Open and close tabs in Safari on iPhone - Apple Support

Hi Frederick Wilson,

You mentioned "now I’d love to move the tabs in my (accidentally) named tab group into that default".

Do the steps below get that done for you?

Move a tab to another Tab Group
1. Touch and hold the Tabs button, then tap Move to Tab Group.
2. Choose one of the Tab Groups you created previously, or create a new group.

We hope this helps!

Thanks, but that doesn’t work for this tab group. It has only one option, which is “Copy Links.” The icon next to its name is different, looks like an iPhone, rather than the two interlocking squares of the other tab group’s icon.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks,

Todd

PS. The “Start Page” tab group I referenced above now has four tabs in it, hence the system’s new name for it in the pix below.
