Selfies on iPhone 15 pro got bad

Hi, I'm experiencing the same as you. I saw some "solutions" on internet, like taking "burst photos" (just slide your finger to the left after pressing the shoot button) so this way it looks exactly as your screen was showing.

However, the quality is inferior.

Some use other tricks, like putting the flash on, and then in LIVE select ur favorite one...

Other solutions are: Using a 3rd party app, like insta, snapchat or some other cam apps. (sad...)

I, myself, am trying a new trick which I think gives better results: It leaves your photo in high resolution and the colours look alike to what they were on the screen: tap your finger on the screen so it appears a little sun (I think it's the exposure) move that sun a liiiittle above the default position. Then take the picture. After doing that, go and see how it went. At first it will look a little grey, but suddenly some nice lights appear.

I tried this at night on my living room. Have to try it with the sunlight yet.

Hope Apple solves this... we are going crazy trying to find a solution.

It's so simple: Just make the photos look like they look at the screen before taking them!

I love the quality of the cam, I just dont like the strange lights and the different tone of my skin after taking the photo.

Note that competing phones are even worse. People want that processing today, and the only solution is to shoot in ProRAW or RAW mode and do your own processing.

The front camera has a larger aperature than the 13, so starting at 14, the larger aperture lets in more light and therefore contrast, brightness, shadowing, etc, are all different. This is a hardware issue.

No issues with mine so I’m not sure if it’s a issue that a lot of people are experiencing (maybe it is but I haven’t heard anyone I know personally say they are experiencing it). What have you done to troubleshoot the issue to rule out settings or anything being the problem? Have you contacted Apple?

I’ve noticed this too! I just got my phone and honestly considering going to the iPhone 14 pro max to see if it’s better. The selfies look horrible!!

I noticed this too. And I noticed when you take a video, it looks exactly the same as before capturing but the selfies are completely ruined!!

I’m returning mine. I took a screenshot of what I see when I’m taking the selfie (on the left, looks like my 13), then the end result with the 15. Night and day. SUCKS!!!

It's not an "issue"; a wider aperture makes for better low light performance.

I noticed it too! I hope it’s fixed soon! It’s awful to miss my old iPhone 12 having a 15 Pro Max! The product is not cheap to have this kind of issues. It’s a little bit sad seeing your comment almost 2 months old without any solution yet 😥 This must to be resolved asap ‼️

This is so bad. I thought it was just my imagination but selfies were way better with my iPhone 12ProMax and it is insane that the new one 15ProMax is that bad.

replying to this as of december 16 2023,Selfies are terrible on the 15 pro,compared to my 12 pro they look so bad,is this a glitch or what?

my iphone 7 plus camera is better than this. Apple should fix this asap.
