Getting my Purchased Music Without a Subscription

I purchased several single songs and full albums on iTunes many years ago. After having them replay often, I removed some from my phone library for a temporary time. I'm trying to redownload my songs and albums. I can see them in my purchase history, open the album, and play the songs from the purchase screen in iTunes store, however, if I view the album I already purchased from my Music app it will not play for me. It only pops up an ad for subscribing to Apple Music to play all their songs for their subscription fee. In the iTunes store view, there is no download option for me either. Just says 'PURCHASED' and I can tap on the song and it will play. How do I get my music I already purchased BACK?

iPhone SE, iOS 16
