My husband is having issues with calls defaulting to Facetime. It happened to me just today. He called me and it came to my iphone as a facetime call. Looked around in settings, but nothing jumped out as a solution. Thanks for any hints/clues.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.
You may want to try editing your contact card. If a phone number is listed as an "iPhone" in the contact settings, FaceTime audio and video options will be shown when dialing.
It may also help to clear the call history before trying again.
