Mystery Alarm going off

This is more in the way of an annoyance but i gots to know. I replaced by old MAc Mini with a slightly more recent used one, running Mojave. Everything from the old user was cleaned off and my own stuff installed. Ever since, there's been this 9AM alarm chime that goes off every morning. The problem is, I do not have any alarms set. I've looked in the System Preferences for the clock settings, looked into "MenuCalendarClock iCal" that I use, even the preferences of my various browsers. Yet still I cannot find any alarm set for anything much less for 9AM. What else could be setting this alarm? It's not that I'm against alarms with pleasant chimes, but I'd like to know how to control the darn thing.

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

Turn off alerts for a calendar

You may want to check the Calendar app: a regular sound alert may have been accidentally triggered:

Set event alerts and receive notifications in Calendar on Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says: Turn off alerts for a calendar

  1. In the Calendar app  on your Mac, Control-click the name of the calendar in the calendar list, then choose Get Info.
  2. If you don’t see the calendar list on the left, choose View > Show Calendar List.
  3. Select “Ignore alerts,” then click OK.

I use MenuCalendarClock iCal myself and so don't have Calendar running, but I did check both first thing, and just now rechecked. Calendar seems to have picked up a holiday or birthday entry fopr about every day of the week, though as I said i juist get this mild chime with no requester notifications for holidays or birthdays. nevertheless, I hit "Igore alerts" for each category. I'll see what happens in the morning.

I had a similar experience when they wiped my phone in store not per my own personal preference. My suggestion would be go in store (different location if feasible ) and opt in to their in-store classes which are super helpful or just see if they can take a look at it. The Genius Bar typically is pretty hands on when it’s not about your AppleID and Password.

In addition often times there may be A disconnect between the phone, Mac iPad and or televisions if you have your Apple ID signed in …. Apple Music just to name one of them. For instance, you may want to check your TV settings or Internet browser settings on your TV that sometimes may or may not have that specific all-day event alarm set up for you. Best practice call or utilize the support application and get a ticket number so you can bubble up if needed! Hope this helps !
