Waveform shows on region and audio track editor, even after silencing in audio file editor in Logic Pro 10.7.9

When I try to remove extraneous noise from the beginning or ending of a take by silencing in the audio file editor, the waveform of the noise remains visible in the audio track view in the editor and the main window. Even though it remains visible, there is no sound from that region. If I go back to silence the section again in the audio file editor, it shows nothing there from my previous silencing; but if I silence the area in the audio file editor (it shows a flat line where the waveform was and where the noise was) the waveform will then disappear in the audio track editor and in region in the main window. Does anybody know how to fix this so that when I silence in the audio file editor, it reflects this in the audio track editor and relevant region?

Pretty sure this is an Overview-refresh problem.

When you go to the Browser area... select f (lower case), make sure you select the actual waveform, I'm using broadcast wav, then go to the "Audio File" drop down and you should see "Refresh Overview(s)".
