Update Apple ID loop in Sonoma

This issue has come up with Catalina but I just updated to Sonoma. I get a little warning that there is an error. The OS asks me to update my Apple ID but clicking “continue” does nothing.

previous answers have suggested logging out of Apple ID but thsf brings up a scary message about downloading or deleting Photos and I really don’t which option to choose. Downloading is 1500 photos or something.

this feels like new behavior based on previous answers.

Hello xtopher1974,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

Without knowing the exact wording of the message, it would be hard to provide exact steps. That being said, we do have some guidance.

Since you mentioned that error said something about your Apple ID, we suggest starting here: Manage and use your Apple ID - Apple Support

If you're unable to find help in that article, the best next step for Apple ID concerns is to reach out to Apple here: we recommend reaching out to Apple Support so they can look into this in more detail. You can do that here: Get Support

Kindest regards.
