I got a new iphone 14, transferred all data and info, then I erased my old iPhone X. I want to sell it - but the old iPhone asks for a passcode - my old passcode does not work. So how can I reset the phone to make it usable for the person I sell it to? Thanks!!!!

I already erased the iPhone and did all that was suggested. Now I can't get into the device that was erased because it is asking for my passcode. When I enter my formerly valid passcode it does not work. Probably because it was erased?! Not sure what I can do now... Maybe I just need to throw the old phone in the garbage.
