UPI payments not supported in iPhone 6s

UPI payments are not supported in iPhone 6s even after the latest update. My iPhone 6s has been updated to iOS 15.7.9 but after that my UPI is not working.

UPI payment not available on ios 15.8 Paytm app says new guidelines of UPI require minimum ios 17 to make payments. However I can’t find any concrete information about it on internet. Has anyone faced similar issue? Can we still do UPI payments from ios 15?
