New iPhone has phone call/vm badge notification error

I just got a new iPhone 15 Pro Max that constantly displays a notification badge of 1 missed call/voicemail. I’ve shut my phone down and restarted it several times as suggested in previous threads, but that doesn’t fix it. I’ve gone through and deleted any missed calls and also made sure all my voicemails have been played. I don’t want to turn off badge notifications because I have my phone on silent while working and the badge lets me know to check missed calls, some of which might be important. Any advice on how to fix this or did I just get a bad phone that I need to return?

We can understand wanting to be rid of this badge notification.

If you have not already done so, make sure that the iOS software is up-to-date on your iPhone 15. The latest version of iOS is 17.0.3. Here's more information on how to update the software: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

If you go to Settings > Notifications, and disable the badge notifications for the Phone app and then reenable it, does this help to resolve the issue?
