I’m having the exact same issue with my 15 Pro Max and I have done everything they say to do. It doesn’t recognize any of the devices and they are in pairing mode and they are next to each other. I don’t know what to do!
Thank you! I finally got it to connect based on your advice
I can’t see the ‘solution’ either! Please repost. Thanks
Just got my 15 pro and am having similar issues. Some devices will connect and others won't. I'm pretty savvy w this stuff yet can't figure out what is going on. My headphones are connected but my JBL speakers won't connect. Bluetooth just keeps spinning looking for other devices - yet no options for connecting come up even when the device is in pair mode.
Apple techs - please fix this bug!
I couldn’t find that answer either…read heaps of posts…Turning phone Bluetooth on and off & turning phone off did nothing. Found the instructions for my Tribit stormbox hard reset and my phone found and connected in seconds! 15 Pro Max. BTW Took a couple of tries to connect with my car too.
Same issue. I can only add new devices I've never connected to before.
Tried hard restart, refreshing network settings etc. Nothing helps.
Installed iOS 17.4 today, same result. Only thing left is to return the phone, unless anyone here has a brilliant idea?
I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones that I love. I’ve tried holding down the pair button and following the instructions provided in the chain. It still isn’t connecting… any other ideas of things I can try??
Make sure you have updated to 17.4.1. 17.4 resolved the issue I was having. If it still won’t work forget the device on your iPhone turn off the device you’re trying to connect to, then turn it back on and start the connection process again. Hopefully that should work

Have you put the devices in pairing mode per the manufacturers directions? For a phone to see and pair with a Bluetooth device, it MUST first be put in pairing mode.
My iPhone 15 Pro has been working until today. now I cant connect to anything...iPad, MacStdio, Vehicle ...nothing!!! I have rebooted everything. It says the iPad is not in range and the Mac Studio is not supported!!!! iOS 17.4.1
Is anyone at Apple listening?
Pairing your Bluetooth device could be painful, but it works at my iPhone 15 pro.
Please try the following steps:
1, Turn off Bluetooth at your iPhone 15 for more than 20 seconds;
2, Turn on your Bluetooth device;
3, Make sure your iPhone and your Bluetooth device in the range;
4, Turn on your Bluetooth at your iPhone 15.
Your iPhone should find and connect to your Bluetooth device. If not, redo the 4 steps again.
I’m having the same problem with my 15 pro max, I called apple and do what they said however the issue still persists, I have to unpair and repair my AirPods, car, even my Apple Watch ever time they turn off, or my phone disconnects from them and it’s quite annoying
May 2024. Just got a brand new iPhone 15 Pro. This phone will not automatically connect to my Bluetooth devices as my previous 13 Pro did. I go into pairing mode. I select the device (Bose Bluetooth speaker). It shows connected to the device, but I can't hear anything. I unpair and repair again, but still the same issue. Only way to get it working is to completely turn off the phone and Bose speaker, restart both, and then pair again. This is very frustrating. As mentioned above, with my previous 13 Pro, all I had to do was turn on my Bose speaker and it quickly and automatically connected to my phone. This is rather frustrating. Any ideas will be welcomed. Thanks!
All of us are wasting our time and getting frustrated because one of the most common iphone bluetooth use cases wasn't tested - setting up a new iphone.
Certainly, it reflects very poorly on the much vaunted quality aspect of iphones.
Apple can say the user experience is important to them but, if that were true, would they have missed testing such an obvious and common use case?
C'mon, Apple, put your money where your mouth is and get this issue resolved so your customers aren't wasting their time dealing with your mistake.
I had to do a “hard reset” on each individual device per the manufacturer’s instructions for everything that was previously paired to my prior iphone. I’ve had iphones since the 2 or 3 and have never had to do this before. If this nightmare ever happens again, I’ll go back to Androids 4 sure. This was stressful and frustrating. Good luck!!
I am having this exact same issue. Just got iPhone today. The only way to transfer data from my 13 was use iCloud backup. AirPods connected fine, watch was difficult and phone does not see car computer. Very frustrating.
