Hi, is it normal that a repair centre would insist that Find My needs to be off before they take in the phone? (And Activation Lock, I assume.) Does this just mean that they're not accredited repairers, or what? Sounds fishy to me.

This is from a major national mobile provider's device-insurance scheme. Just wondering why they'd need to enforce this, if anyone has any ideas? My resolution is I'm going to wipe the phone before sending it in - too fishy having them poke around in my icloud, I'd rather send a blank phone. What a hassle 🙄
One more detail found in the footnote of the Apple Support page referenced in the other post.
"This policy is in force to prevent unauthorized persons from servicing your device without your knowledge."

I would suggest an Apple store in this case.
If the repair service is not Apple or an Apple authorized service provider you might reconsider your choice.
