Hi theukdeans,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! As noted in the resource below:

Apple ID FAQ

Your Apple ID should not be shared with anyone else. It provides access to personal information including contacts, photos, device backups, and more. Sharing your Apple ID with someone else means you are giving them access to all your personal content and may lead to confusion over who actually owns the account. To share purchases, photos, a calendar, and more with someone else, try Family Sharing, iCloud Photo Sharing, or other easy-to-use sharing features.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.

we do realise what you are saying but we have done it for so long it has never been a problem. we started as there was no joint calendar on apple device that worked well and it was not easy to share photos, or contacts or any thing else. and so we just used one and it has been great for us. I just don't want to go through making an other account and then having to set every thing (including key chain ) up in the new account remember there is many years of sharing and we are happy if possible to carry this on. the only issue we have is no voice mail from missed calls on my partners phone goes to her phone my phone works okay I get all the messages left for me on my phone she does not get mine but I don't get hers either. her carrier O2 says its a known fault with iCloud
