iPhone suddenly using too much data WiFi only

Within the last month or so, my iPhone 13 (cell and wifi) and my daughter's iPhone 6s (wifi only) are both suddenly using insane amounts of Wifi data, to the point that we are reaching our monthly internet limit of 1200 GB. What changed and how can I fix it?

Hello Ajam_2007,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, it's great to have you here.

We'd like to help you figure this out. While there isn't any way for us to know why the data usage went up, since that would vary on a per-device basis, we do have one suggestion. If you use the battery usage features built into iOS, you should be able to get an idea of the apps that are using the most battery which may shed some light on what is using the most Wi-Fi data as well: About the battery usage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

The article above should help you do that.

We hope this does the trick for you!

Cheers.
