iOS mail doesn’t display mail from Exchange Server in the inbox correctly

iOS mail connects to exchange server but doesn’t load mail into top level mailbox. Mail is shown in sub-folders but there is no notification showing nor are they visible in the top level folder.

Weird behavior and don’t know how to resolve.

Deleted and reinstalled account multiple times. These messages are sorted when viewing on desktop website for OWA and also the messages in the top level folders are shown in OWA, too.. just not happening in the iOS Mail app either on my ipad Pro my iphone 12.

Of note, a second email account on the same server accessed via iOS mail working fine. There are no sub folders for this account, however.

Seems to be a sync error of some sort since messages arrive on the iOS mail app but done display top level for this account. And there are no unread mail counters showing in iOS for this mailbox even though there are new emails in the sub folders.

Hello surdat,

It looks like you joined the Apple Support Communities from the following page: If you can’t send email on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. However it sounds like the issue is not with sending or receiving, just how they are appearing in your Mail app. Is that correct?

Make sure that the settings for this account are correct on your device: Set up Exchange ActiveSync on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. For more information about changing advanced settings on your account, you can look here: Use S/MIME to send and receive encrypted messages in the Mail app in iOS - Apple Support.

We hope this information helps you out.

Kind regards!
