Keychain with Managed Apple ID

We would like to use keychain with our managed Apple IDs, but signing in as a Business / School account does not seem to list Keychain as an iCloud service. Is this just not supported or am I missing something?

The associated videos, e.g. Do more with Managed Apple IDs - WWDC23 - Videos - Apple Developer just gloss over the details of how this is supposed to work. They just seem to claim it works as of iOS 17, but it doesn't seem to be the case?

Hello largewoodenbadger,

iCloud Keychain is not supported with managed Apple ID's. As outlined at Managed Apple ID security - Apple Support, "For Managed Apple IDs, some services are disabled (for example, Apple Pay, iCloud Keychain , HomeKit, and Find My)."

Thanks for the reply. Did you click the link I attached?

It links to the second in the video with the sentence “Managed Apple IDs now support iCloud Keychain”. That sentence sounds quite unambiguous to me. Has something changed? Do you have out of date information? Would appreciate some follow-up here.
