After the update of 17.0.3, when I receive a text message there is no sound to alert me that a message has came through. The volume of my phone is up and not muted. Only when I am wearing my IWatch does it show a notification to check my phone. I have reset my phone numerous times, changed the ring tone for a louder one, still does not work. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem - but I don't have an Apple Watch, just the phone. I finally tracked it to a wifi issue: when the phone is on the home wifi network, no text tone sounds for a new message. I hear a tone only when the phone is on the cellular network.
I am having the same problem. This has happened before. So frustrating. Fix it Apple!!!!
I have the similar problem with my iPhone 13 but in reverse; sound (and vibration) with text when on wifi network, vibration only when on cellular network. Doesn't make sense.
