Keyboard not working properly

I was just released from hospital yesterday after 7 months. Returning home I find my Mac keyboard is not working on specific keys on the far right of the keyboard eg P snd L etc so I rush out today snd buy a new version of the same model ie Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, only to find the new one had the same problem, so I now assume it’s a setting on my Mac please help , after 7 months in hospital I’m find typing on my phone
