Safari cannot open page "cannot parse response" (NSURLEErrorDomain:-1017)

I have a MacBook Pro IOS Ventura 13.5.2 and have been playing Netflix quite happily however, now I cannot access it. I have tried emptying cache, history, turning off wifi and restarting both router and computer but nothing works. All other websites are working normally. I can access website on my iPhone on same wifi network but not on my MacBook. Any ideas please?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Hello suzisb,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are having issues with accessing Netflix using Safari on your Mac. We have a few steps that may help you isolate and resolve the issue.

  1. If you are running a VPN, Antivirus, or firewall, try disabling them and test again.
  2. Test in safe mode. This will rule out third-party apps as the cause - Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
  3. Test on another Wi-Fi network
  4. Check out your extensions and plugins in Safari. Some of them may be hindering the connection.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
