The SOS mode simply indicates your iPhone is unable to find its home network (as configured by the SIM or eSIM) so it is allowed to make emergency calls only on other networks.

I have cricket wireless and mine and my boyfriend’s phone are in SOS mode since 2 AM it shut off on me right in the middle of the night and went straight to SOS and I am located in Will county Illinois which is a suburb outside of Chicago

The outage is nationwide. Cricket uses AT&T's network. There is nothing you can do until the network issues are resolved. You can try using Wi-Fi calling.

I really thought having the new iPhone 15 Pro Max would resolve all the other issues I used to have with an android, and I have to admit I want to go back to an android because I have not had this phone since Friday and I’ve had more issues with it than I have ever had with a android phone, and when my phone carrier opens up in a few hours, I’m going to call them and I’m gonna make a complaint

Well I have T mobile and I have been going through this sos issues since last summer -September, I have been though 2 different sims cards from my carrier fixes it temporarily but after i while it starts to act up and I’m on the latest update and till this day still it depends on the timing sometimes it back-back 5x a day or sometimes it takes weeks to see my phone to go to sos mode I’m gonna say who is to blame because who parties are going to point fingers

I’m standing on an elevation with two of my carriers towers directly within line of sight, the tower behind me is literally within 1000’ and the tower in front of me is within 1500’ of my phone, every night it is the same story … directly to SOS mode. My 14 has been doing this since the update to 17.x.x. At this point I’m ready to to hit this phone with a hammer and walk away!
