Same thing happened to my IPhone 11 after installing the iOS 17 update.
Don’t understand why that is going on.

Same thing happened. I thought the phone just didn’t recognized my face and didn’t even bothered checking true tone. I tried setting up the face ID again and it wouldn’t work. That’s when I found out that the true tone was gone.
Hi Mawi_1408,
Certain features may prevent you from seeing the option for True Tone as described here:
"Some display accessibility settings, including Invert Colors, Grayscale, and Increase Contrast, might turn off True Tone. If you turn Reference Mode on for your iPad, you can't adjust your brightness and both True Tone and Night Shift will be disabled."

Cheers!
just try to reload your phone(volum button up+ down+power button)
good luck!

Turn it off and on it again
I was searching everywhere for the solution and didn’t know restarting it was the only way to bring it back, thank you it works

That’s also happened to me but when I restart my iPhone it came back
Hey! Can you please update if that issue resolved after updating to other versions of iOS 17 or did you get it fixed from a repair shop or apple authorised service centre
