How can I upload something not on iTunes or the iMovie app? for example: Spotify.

I've tried to record the song I want to add to the project, but it's not the same good quality. I can't download a song on Spotify either...

The Spotify website indicates that it is a streaming service that allows you to listen to songs as long as you maintain the subscription. You don't own the songs but are only renting the use of them, so to speak. Since you do not own the songs or a license to use them apart from the subscription, you cannot acquire ownership of the songs by downloading them to your computer or placing it in an app. (There would be copyright issues as well) Otherwise you could download 100's of songs for cheap and then cancel the subscription. Not what the website intends, I am sure.

If you purchase a license to use the song, other than through a subscription streaming service, you should be able to download and drag it into iMovie in accordance with the terms of the license, as with iTunes. That would assume that the song is in a format that iMovie supports.
