Audio output changes after phone call

using Apple Maps in my vehicle, I have the sound (map instructions) coming thru the vehicle speakers.

if I get a phone call, that also is coming in through the vehicle speakers.

all good to this point.

now I hang up and the sound that was originally coming through the car speakers from maps is now directed to my hearing aid.

how do I stop this from happening. I want it to keep coming through the car speakers as I originally had it.

Thanks for your reply.

In my case, my hearing aids are only connected to one device, my iPhone.

I think I may have a found a work around.

I have to set the audio routing on my phone to Never Hearing Devices for Media Audio.

Then when I have maps audio coming through the vehicle speakers, and I get a phone call and then hang up, the maps audio will stay with the vehicle speakers instead of switching to my hearing aids.

Unfortunately, when I’m not driving, I now have to change the media routing back to my hearing aid when listening to YouTube. Music, etc through my phone.

Still frustrating that I have to go into settings all the time but I haven’t found another solution.

Again, thanks for your response

Hi Wdh371phy,

That's a great question, and it looks like this may be by design. We found this, which mentions the situation in which you are referring to.

Use hearing devices with iPhone - Apple Support

Use your hearing devices with more than one device
If you pair your hearing devices with more than one device (both iPhone and iPad, for example), the connection for your hearing devices automatically switches from one to the other when you do something that generates audio on the other device, or when you receive a phone call on iPhone.
Changes you make to hearing device settings on one device are automatically synced with your other devices.
1. Sign in with your Apple ID on all the devices.
2. Connect all the devices to the same Wi-Fi network.

With that being said, we'd advise to contact Apple's Accessibility Support, as they may be able to assist with this situation.
