how to use music as ringtone

To get started, we do want to let you know that you cannot use a normal song (Apple Music or otherwise) to use as a ringtone on your device. A ringtone has very specific file formats and lengths. However, you can see if you can locate a ringtone of the song you wish to use in the Tone Store: Use tones and ringtones with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

There was a time it was possible to get a snippet of a song and set as ringtone on iPhones. Apple removed that a few years ago and only purchased tones seem to be the way.
