Unauthorized camera part

I don’t have a authorize camera part. It’s been recommended by Apple to replace it with a genuine part. Why is this and will it cost me money to replace❓

For an unknown reason your iPhone's software no longer detects the camera as a genuine Apple component. That might be because a non-approved repairer has worked on the iPhone at some time in its history, or it might be that a genuine Apple component has a technical failure and is no longer identifiable. You didn't mention which model of iPhone or the software version, so anything more than this explanation would be a wild guess.


Your best option at this stage is contact Apple Support and arrange to get your iPhone examined by Apple.
