After iOS 17 iPhone 11 is not charging

I don’t know what’s wrong before I updated everything was fine but not anymore when I updated my phone randomly started freezing and not charging to 100 percent I just got stuff I didn’t really want but Great update👍

Went into the apple store today and they couldn't get my iphone 11 working. Said it wasn't the ios change and that they hadn't heard of the issue. I shared this forum and it was a surprise to everyone. This is hugely disappointing from apple - maybe Apple should stop making BS sustainability adverts and start making phones that last longer than 3 years.

such an odd issue for me too, updated my XR a few days ago to the ios 17 and since my phone just doesn’t charge, just stays at whatever percentage it’s on and i’m constantly having to reset and try other chargers it’s so inconvenient for me, not at a time where i can just buy a new iphone too

Dreadful.

They just removed a completely legitimate post in which I explained the less than satisfying process by which they finally replaced my non-charging software-afflicted phone.

They took the old phone (iPhone 12 Pro), and replaced the entire "guts", including the camera and battery, leaving the existing screen and back cover. Just fine by me. It's essentially a new iPhone 12 Pro. It works just fine.

Who knows what the problem was, but it sure was frustrating to get to this point. I am now satisfied with their solution, but it took forever to get to it, with lots of toing and froing with multiple Apple support people and processes. I finally got to a very thorough and competent woman who followed through. She was excellent, but it took ages to get someone capable, sadly.

It seems like this is a general problem, judging from the number of similar complaints on this forum and elsewhere.

I’ve had the same problem as everyone else here since updating to iOS 17 two days ago. Contacted Apple support and this was the response I received:

Thank you for reaching out today! At this time, apple has heard reports of this issue and we don't yet completely understand the issue and are still working to resolve this issue. Therefore, Apple can't promise a solution or predict when an investigation will finish. We do apologize for this inconvenience and are working to solve this issue.

So I guess once my phone runs out of battery I’ll have to get a new one!?

I primarily wanted to take a screenshot to show Apple that it was the next day and it didn't get to 100% but strangely enough, it did, so i tried without it and the same issue happened again then did a screenshot and 100% so i continued on doing it(still don't get how that relates but eh if it works it works lol

so here's a recap of the steps i did:

1- disabled optimized charging

2- took a screenshot(maybe using the phone a little while on charge in general would be help)

NB: charging the phone an extra time to the one overnight will result in the return of the issue(pain in the *** i know but it is what it is)

My iPhone 8 broke in early December and I bought a new iPhone 11 it worked perfectly with the wireless charger I had and 2 days ago (when I updated it to the latest iOS) it won’t charge it gets up to 18% and then goes down I can use it for hours while it says it’s charging but still says 1% but as soon as I unplug it it dies I don’t know what to do since it’s a new phone and I don’t have the funds to buy a new one

I downloaded 17.3 my iPhone 13 Pro Max stopped charging. I plugged it in to the charger turned my phone off waited a little bit turned it back on and it started charging. I also have optimized charging on

Hi, having the exact same problem as most, phone said there was water in charger. Stopped charging. Turned off optimized charging and it worked again. The charging started to get spotty and then last night, not only did it not charge, it died and won’t turn back on. Anyone in this situation have the same problem? How do you fix it?

getting the same issue with the latest update Feb 2024. In recent times I get this issue every time I update. It is hard to believe that this isn't an intentional move by Apple to get you to purchase a new phone. Noting the lack of action on the issue

iPhone 13 Pro Max it seems on purpose is not charging. $1500 device is set again to be replaced yet with another unit, Apple is playing games to be sued again , just as they tempered with slowing down devices before to make customers think unit needs to be replaced , levels it’s time to go Samsung for good. Apple technology is dead in the water

Just updated to ios 17.4.1. Issues remain the same - phone still shuts down completely, with 98% of charge remaining. This happened within 20 minutes of the newest ios download.

REALLY hoping 17.5 will fix this!! Anyone else having the same (bad) experience?!?
